Rewarewa

Rewarewa, Knightia excelsa is a slow-growing, upright evergreen tree often cultivated as an ornamental tree in gardens and parks. It can reach heights of up to 15 meters with great age but more typically is found at 8-10 meters and produces clusters of red, tubular flowers during the warmer months. This species is successful in a wide range of soils, including sandy loams as well as heavier types, provided drainage is reasonable.
